#Previous parameter in FRank

Hi p123 team!

#Previous parameter in FRank is currently supported in a screener but not in a simulation buy rule.

When can we excpet that it will also be available for simulations?

Br,
Florian

It’s never going to happen for technical reasons, as I understand it. The problem is that all rules in the portfolio/simulator are evaluated simultaneously, so there’s no way to determine what the previous rule was.

The way around it, of course, is to put your criteria in a custom universe, which should use #Previous normally.

Thanks Paul!

I want to sort results with FOrder using #Previous after Ranking them first. But to my understanding Custom Universes don’t allow Rank to be used as a condition. Is there a workaround for doing that with simulations?

Hi Sterling,
in a simulation you can use Rating function first for the ranking and then FOrder for all remaining stocks which have passed the ranking.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately going by what is said in the Reference FOrder doesn’t work with the #Previous scope in simulations in the same way #Previous does not work with FRank in simulations as pdemartino says in this same thread. Is there another scope or function I could use that would return similar results to using #Previous? I guess I will have to create a feature suggestion request.
