NEW: Side by side comparison and scoring

Dear All,

Access our new side-by-side comparison at DATA->STOCKS&ETFS->Compare

It allows you to compare stocks the intuitive way, side by side. There are three pre-defined comparison reports or you can create your own. Here are two screenshots. One is the default “Summary” comparison, the other is a “Scorecard” comparison that shows a total winning comparisons for each stock . For example if one of the comparisons is PE, and lower is deemed better, then the stock that has the lowest PE gets a +1.

The tool should be pretty intuitive. Let us know what you think. Thanks

Thanks.

First take: I like it!

Useful? Maybe by watching a side by side comparison of my holdings and big movers for the day I might find new insights into what drives the day to day price changes of my stocks. E.g., quality surging or tanking on fed announcement?

is it possible to pull up multiple rankings on numerous stocks at the same time? then make a composite score? i would be very interested in having this available.

Thanks for all the great work here.

Very useful when considering buying a stock in an industry or sector you’re already exposed to. I always struggle with that one.

Mille grazie, Marco!

Please add the ability to show rank across several Ranks. Thank you.

I appreciate this stuff, but there are some simple UI changes you guys could make that would be more useful. Like being able to drag to change the order of buy and sell rules for simulations the way you can for screens and universes.

Love it! Thank you for this new functionality. Question: how do you determine “similar stocks”?

-Debbie

Nice to play with, although I believe myself and most P123 users would prefer development to be focused on further error cleaning/protections and on new data (EUROPE) rather than these additions.

I agree with iavanti.

I’ve added new factors, but I’m getting this error:
Invalid factor EPS%Chg5Y: Error near ‘EPS%Chg5Y’: Invalid command ‘EPS%Chg5Y’

Invalid factor EPS%Chg5Y
Please try it now. Sorry about that

how do you determine “similar stocks”?
By market cap in the same Industry or SubIndustry, whichever you choose.

Add Ability to Monitor Model Rank Changes Over Time

Very helpful, but…

This could be a much more useful tool for pre-trade due diligence and portfolio monitoring (and take advantage of P123’s strengths). Would it not be most valuable and useful if we could monitor changes in model ranks over time (multiple years and multiple quarters)? We should be able to monitor the evolution of values AND ranks that lead us to buy (or sell) a particular stock using whatever variables we have in our ranking system (i.e., please be sure to allow use of custom variables).

In general, please place a much higher emphasis on integrating functionality across the platform. This will radically improve ease of us allow us to get the most out of your efforts.

Guys, any ideas how to back test the scorecard ? This would be very useful for pair trading.

Speaking of pair trading, have you seen www.pairtradinglab.com ?

I don’t use it. Just kicking its tires for now.

Walter

THANKS WALTER!!

Probably too advanced for me but the general idea clearly works for some: e.g.: James Chanos. Will check out!

Your welcome, James. There’s a youtube video, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mymxN3SFCjM

Yes, I use this software and try to combine time series with fundamental analysis.

Hi Norbert,

Please don’t leave us hanging! Are you getting profitable results?

Walter

cool! Thank you!
