New "Loop" functions: avg, median, min, max, stddev

Dear All,

Under FORMULA FUNCTIONS->INDIVIDUAL SECURITY you will now see these new functions

LoopAvg(“formula”,iterations[,start,increment,noNAs])
LoopSum(“formula”,iterations[,start,increment,noNAs])
LoopMedian(“formula”,iterations[,start,increment,noNAs])
LoopMax(“formula”,iterations[,start,increment,noNAs])
LoopMin(“formula”,iterations[,start,increment,noNAs])
LoopStdDev(“formula”,iterations[,start,increment,noNAs])
LoopStdDevP(“formula”,iterations[,start,increment,noNAs])

Thanks for the suggestions

Wonderful! Thank you, Marco.

Thank you!

Hi Marco,

You can close out feature request https://www.portfolio123.com/feature_request.jsp?view=open&cat=-1&featureReqID=1266 .

The new functions essentially cover the needed functionality.

Best,
Walter

Marco:

 This is very helpful. Thanks.

Bill

Thank you!

Superb! Many thanks!!!

Any chance to increase CTR from the current limit of 50 iterations?

Awesome

Great. Thank you!

This is great, thank you for the continuous improvements!

Marco,

Two questions:

  1. Are custom formulas allowed in the “formula” parameter? I receive errors when I use custom formulas and P123 pre-defined vars such as Pr2BookQ.

  2. Could you extend the counter (CTR) to allow more than 10 years? Wouldn’t it make sense to allow use from database inception to current year? I can’t imagine the computational demands are anything but light.

Thanks for your response.

Best,

D

  1. Custom formulas are not allowed. Using Pr2BookQ should not be a problem but that’s just a single data point, so it’s not useful in the Loop functions. You still need CTR in “formula”.
  2. What 10 years are you talking abut ? If you are talking about financial statements we can only reference 11 past annuals and 25 quarters from any point-in-time. Example, with an as-of date of 2005 you can only access annuals back to 1994 even if the company has more.

Thanks for the quick reply. You answered my questions. Wasn’t aware that we maxed out at 11 past annuals PIT.

Marco:

Extending CTR to 100 for technical factors would be helpful.
