I used the search button and I found at least two people asking the question but with no reply:
Is there a way to have weekly/monthly technical analysis signals? See this example:
I want a 40 weekly exponential moving average. You may tell me why don’t you get a 200 daily exponential moving average?
Well, it looks similar but it’s completely different and won’t give the same result. By experience, weekly/monthly signals gives really good result for risk mgmt purposes.
Daily is too volatile and I want some of the trading noise to be out.
I agree with the thread here.
I would like to see the ability to use weekly averages.
At this time, I am sorting for various weekly criteria on StockCharts and bringing over the results as InLists on Portfolio 123. It would make it easier to do if we could ask for moving averages of various indexes and technical indicators.

Completely agree. I asked for it in the past, see: http://www.portfolio123.com/mvnforum/viewthread?thread=5091#23910 but I cannot find any official feature request so I just went ahead and created one (hopefully it is not a duplicate), please vote here. :
Thanks, Zvi
Anyone know if this feature functionality was ever (or ever will be) implemented? I’m trying to use a technical signal off weekly data but didn’t see how it’s possible. Maybe I’m missing something?
Agree with Quantonomics - if I use a 200 day EMA it gives a different result than if I used 40 week EMA
