When asking for rank values of this item, a very large number of stocks in the database ( 30 -40 % ) show the same rank number : 58.72.
In all cases the rank result also displays as 1 item N/A.

Lots of companies have PE=NA. Ranking treats all NA’s the same assigning the next lowest value which depends on the universe.
For example if you rank within the SP500, very few companies will have PE=NA, so the NA rank will be much lower than if you were ranking against the whole universe where a much higher proportion is NA.
At the moment the whole universe is about 8400 stocks of which 4900+ have PE=NA, more than half, that’s why the rank is for PE=NA is around 58
Hi,
Sorry for digging up the post but I am using PEExclXorTTM to rank stocks (along with several others) and I am surprised to see N/A for every stock for each date before Jan 9, 2018 (using “As of”).
Any idea why?
EDIT: It appears that the N/A are not really N/A… I do see a value for PEExclXorTTM if I click “Pre-defined report => Value” but not in my custom “saved” report.
EDIT2: It seems that the exact opposite if happening for Pr2SalesTTM
There are a variety of restrictions surrounding historical reports to discourage data scraping. For instance, when doing a historical custom report - you get the first 5 columns of custom data requested. But anything after that will be NA.
Understood, thank you
