I know this is not P123 may be designed to do. But I have discretionary stock portfolio with adds. trims, buys, etc. Also new money is added from time to time. Right now I track it on a google sheet. Is there a way to track this in P123?
It is easy to add transactions. P123 uses a mild form of AI (or something) to recognize transactions with different formats.
I just wanted to add that it has no problem with most ETFs (in addition to stocks). I download all my transactions—including ETFs–from my broker every weekend. Takes about a minute.
There is also a lot of information available in addition to the equity curve with a benchmark—Sharpe ratio being just the start.
Click “Manage,” then “Account,” then “New Account,” then “Paper Account.” Once you set it up with the details, create a strategy by clicking on the three bars next to the account name. Choose “Manual” and initialize with transactions. You can probably just paste the Google Sheet into the box, as long as the transactions are all in consistent columns.
Thank you everybody. I truly appreciate you responding. I finally got a chance to input some trades (did not have much luck with import).
One issue I ran with IAC. IAC has been a serial spinoff machine. They spun off Match last year and VMEO this year. However, these spins are not added to the portfolio. How do we get around this? Manually entering the spin details? And then how do compute the result of IAC since inception as the spin securities return will not be added to the parent.
Yes, the handling of spinoffs and mergers could be improved. We’re working on it, but it’s a major project, and it’s not something we can support at the moment. My apologies!
can you elaborate on transaction import or where you got stuck? there are several improvements in the works because some things are just not intuitive. thanks
