The DataMiner Windows install package has been improved. This announcement is an FYI regarding the new installer. There are no DataMiner code changes being released today.
Before using the new installer, you should uninstall the prior version of DataMiner otherwise you will have 2 versions installed. This uninstall only needs to be done one time during this transition to the new installer. The process to uninstall is go to Control Panel then to Programs. Click ‘Uninstall a Program’ and find DataMiner in the list then click it to uninstall. The steps may be slightly different depending which version of Windows you have.
Once installed, you will need to reenter your API id and key one time after the initial install with this new installer. The new default install location will be C:\Program Files (x86)\DataMiner. The files and folders under the DataMiner folder will be overwritten each time you install a new version, so do not store your personal DataMiner scripts here.
