Multiple logins enforcement

Hello,

Starting December 9th 2020, there will be a new mechanism in place will will stop multiple logins into the same account from different IP addresses at the same time. We won’t block new logins. You will simply get the option to the new login to automatically log out old sessions.

Exception for scripters:
We’ve temporarily included a way to skip the multiple logins check for clients using automation scripts from servers with different IPs. For scripts authenticating via /login.jsp, the multiple logins check will start to be enforced starting January 1st 2021. For scripts authenticating via /app/auth, a non-visible checkbox element with ID skipMultipleLoginsCheck will be added which will have to be clicked to skip the multiple logins check.

Thanks,
Hem

Hem, what happens if I travel and use a different IP address than my normal one. Will I then not be able to log into my account?

What does that mean exactly? Is it like if I’m at work and I have P123 open at home, it will log me off at home and when I go back home it will log me off at work?

Can you confirm that I can at least be logged on with 1 IP address, no matter what the IP address is?

@geov it is just to enforce that 2 different ip addresses are not logging into the same account at the same exact time. You will be able to use the account. In your case, it would record the IP address and your active session will remain active. So if you have your laptop and you use wifi and then suddenly switch to a cellular network, the session will record the new IP and it will remain active.

@quantonomics It will show you the multiple logins prompt which will allow you to invalidate all other sessions (which are also considered active until an hour of inactivity)

We won’t block new logins. Simply give the option to the new login to automatically log out old sessions.
