might be interesting https://www.newconstructs.com/education/education-webinars-and-tutorials/

Thanks!

We are talking to them. Stanford would like to access his data in P123 to run simulations, so we’re trying to make it happen.

The data is quite expensive for end users, like $100K/year I think. So not sure how P123 could ever distribute it. Certainly it would require the user to get a license.

and the returns seem to be middling

Where did you see any of their returns?

I don’t know anything about newconstructs, but it would be nice to see p123 partner with someone like Alpha Architect - even for the increased visibility; https://allocatesmartly.com/not-a-diy-investor-an-all-in-one-managed-solution-is-here/

Walter

Thank you walter, very interesting,

@ Marco.

I would pay 1000 even more a year, depending on the results (e.g. if they would improve my results in a big way).

So if you find a way to test their data with not much programming days I would be interested.

You can use all my strategies to test drive, let me know.

Anyway, I know P123 has a lot on the To-Do list, just an idea…

Best Regards

Andreas

Andreas and Marco,

Thank you for the idea. Platinum individual is $99 a month.

For that you get detailed information on only 50 stocks the you can update quarterly…

But, you get “Get access to the overall Risk/Reward rating for every ticker we cover on our Ratings page.” Presumably a ranking or rating of some sort.

Observations:

  1. $99 a month ($1,188 a year) is close to what Andreas is willing to pay

  2. If the ‘Risk/Reward’ is full ranked then some members may not need all of the details. It would just be part of an overall ranking system.

  3. The P123 overall ranking system could then include things like momentum and earnings estimates

  4. BTW, FactSet may be particularly good with earnings estimates as they are PIT. The combination COULD give an edge—especially if value starts to work again.

How could we use it?

  1. if the Risk/Reward can be downloaded then we could—by ourselves—upload this into the “Stock Factor.” Something that Georg, Walter, Cary and Yuval seem to be adept at (not me yet but perhaps I could learn).

  2. Marco could negotiate a deal for this information—even at the extra $1,000 that Andreas is willing to pay. Perhaps.

Anyway, interesting. For now I would be interested in any comment from Georg, Walter, Yuval and others as to whether the downloads from this site and uploads into P123 could work—if anyone has the interest to look into this.

I suspect they might not allow much in the way of downloads of historical data for individuals to use in sims. Would probably require something from P123. I will look into this too and let people know if I learn anything.

But if one already has confidence in the site it could probably be used with InList now.

Also, however, this is just a machine learning recommendation isn’t it? That is how they describe themselves on their site. There are many other options I would look at for this price.

Thank you.

go to their website, they have returns of model portfolios

https://www.newconstructs.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Model_Portfolios_PerformanceReport_3Q19.pdf

Long portfolio beats the benchmark, but has monthly re balance. I think the core combination may do equivalent or better. I have not checked.
