Hedge or Bet on Market Direction by Ray Dalio?

I never know whether this kind of thing is a hedge or a bet.

Either way a little adjustment for Bridgewater Associates and Ray Dalio it seems: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/11/22/bridgewater-associates-bets-over-1-billion-on-wintertime-sell-off.html

Should we reduce our positions or hedge too?

Why am I posting this? Confirmation bias and probably not much more. Looks like I am not immune to confirmation bias. If you call me on that I will be forced to agree.

“The firm paid about $1.5 billion for the contracts, about 1% of Bridgewater’s $150 billion in total assets under management, the report said.”
