Is Anyone using P123 Trade feature in a Canadian interactive brokers account? My goal is to automate my trading it takes to long to do it manually. Will IB and Trade allow me to fully automate my trading or at least partially? I think my only option is IB as a Canadian citizen.

I have 3 Canadian accounts attached here at P123 with IB. If you want to trade US stocks through TRADE or INVEST then you are good to go. If you want to trade CAN stocks then you are out of luck. You have to go through the broker. I’m pretty sure you can thank IIROC for that. They do not allow trades on CAN exchanges to be placed from anywhere but the registered broker. No Automation and not even via API. I’m not sure if that will change in the future. I recently read that they are going to consider opening up automated trading for large institutions but not to the retail investors (at least not yet). I have yet to hear of anyone that has found a way around this. I have written to IIROC and asked for clarity on this matter but I got no response.
