Simulations not automatically updating Custom Series

I have a simulation that references a Custom Series with;

Close(0,GetSeries("Employee"))

But after running a simulation today (11/10/2017), when I inspect the Series, there’s a note;

Series data is NOT current. Data last saved 09/13/2017 with end date 09/09/2017. 
Click 'Update' to make current.

Are Series no longer automatically updated?

I’ll look into it. Did you manually update it afterwards?

No, not yet.

In that case, it may have been a server-side caching issue if you pulled up the custom series before running the simulation. The first thing I did was check the custom series you mentioned, and it was up-to-date when I checked it.

Oh, I see! I’ll try another test case but after the sim, I’ll log out and then back again. Hopefully, the series with bre up to date.
