The new positions sizing is causing problems with rebalances.

As the auto-rebalance process with the position sizing release has caused many errors, we have rolled back the site to the latest stable release.

Please double check any auto rebalances from this morning before actually executing the trades.

Designer model appear to have ONLY SOLD so do NOT execute the trades as we will be rebalancing these models after the issue is fixed.

Uh oh. I already did the trades.

For the future can I suggest that you roll out new updates mid-week in order to give everyone time to catch bugs before live trading?

Are you going to re-send the Portfolio Rebalance e-mails?

I build my models to rebalance as of Monday’s close, and I can’t tell by looking at them if there are any trades today. I rely on the e-mails.

Along with posting this announcement, a re-balance e-mail should have been sent out immediately.

That alone is unfortunately not the problem.

When I try to manually rebalance my only live book, it tells me that there are no new recommendations - even though there are sell recommendations generated for the designer models.


Designer Model trade signal emails have now been re-sent with the correct recommendations. Please disregard trade signals sent before 8:30 CST today.

We’re looking in to fixing books now.

I got the designer emails. I have not received the Portfolio rebalance e-mail, which is what I am waiting on. I assume it will come shortly.

We’re reviewing the extent of the damage on live portfolios before we work to reverse out the bad signals. After that’s done, we will issue the command which will rebalance automatic portfolios and books and send off emails. Users who have manually re-run this rebalance in their automatic models will not be affected by this process.
Until everything is corrected, we apologize for the delays! We hope to have everything corrected before 12PM CST.

Automatically rebalanced Live Portfolio’s are being rerun and correct emails are being sent out. As with Designer Models, please disregard the signals sent before 8:30 CST today.

We’re currently looking into the best process for fixing live books.

We have now rebalanced and sent the correct signals for Live Books.

Rebalances were only re-done for books that had no new manual transactions since the bad rebalance from this morning. So if you took action to fix your books yourself, they were not touched.

Very sorry for these errors. We’ll keep checking for issues.

So when will Portfolio sizing method ‘Formula Weight’ be supported again?

We’re fixing the cause of today’s rebalance issue. The automatic rebalance process runs independently from the site - this is what caused today’s issues.

As a rule we try to launch major feature releases before mid-week to weed out bugs before the next Monday rebalance. This didn’t help for the automatic rebalance process which only runs once a week. We’re setting up some improved testing to address that.

We’re planning on restoring the position sizing feature after market close as today’s issues were caused by the independent rebalance process.

Well it’s good to see the Optimizer working again, too.
