Full Description
The StochK and StochD functions return the %K and %D components of the Stochastic Oscillator. Using the smoothing parameters all versions of Stochastic can be implemented: fast, slow, and full. Use the offset parameter to find trends or find recent crossovers. Smoothing is accomplished with a simple average.
NOTE: we use price histories adjusted for dividends like most other technical indicators
Parameters
StochK(period [,smoothK,offset,series])
StochD(period ,smoothK,smoothD,offset,series])
period: 2-50
smoothK: 1-21(default is 1)
smoothD: 2-21(default is 3)
offset: optional, 0-100
series: optional, see below
Examples
Fast Stochastic(14,3): %K is not smoothed, %D is 3 bar average of %K
To get %K enter: StochK(14)
To get %D enter: StochD(14,1,3)
Slow Stochastic (14,3): %K is smoothed, %D is 3 bar average of smoothed %K
To get %K enter: StochK(14,3)
To get %D enter: StochD(14,3,3)
Full Stochastic (14,3,X): %K is smoothed, %D is X bar average of smoothed %K
To get %K enter: StochK(14,3)
To get %D enter: StochD(14,3,X)
NOTE: Full Stoch(14,3,3) is the same as the Slow(14,3)
