Target Company in an M&A Deal

DaysFromMergerAnn - only identifies companies being acquired.
How do I screen for the acquiring company? I understand they may or may not be publically listed. But if they are is there a way to identify them?

Thanks!

Sorry, we just don’t have any way to screen for acquirers. We don’t have the data.

:frowning:

Ok. I am using the screener and backtesting. Is there a way I can figure out what % of each of the trades where profitable? Only way I can tell is by clicking on each date and seeing the company’s purchase/sell price. How do I figure out the % of the # of stocks purchased where winners and the # losers and breakeven?

The screener backtest doesn’t keep track of positions, so we can’t give that stat in a screen backtest.

The portfolio simulation has that stat, though. You can find it on the Trading statistics page. (Under the Statistics button at the top of the page.)

What about the stock positions. How do I put them into an excel spread sheet?

I have to click on each of the dates and from that I can view all the stock positions. How do I output all the positions into an excel spread sheet without having to click on each one individually?

You can’t get all of a portfolio’s historical holdings in a single spreadsheet.

You can download all of the transactions in a single spreadsheet, though. That may or may not be helpful, but it should give you a quick way of seeing all of the stocks that the portfolio has ever held.
