Screener

I can’t run any backtests in the screener. It just freezes after I click on Backtest on any existing or new screen I try. Please advise. Thanks.

Have you tried clearing your browser cache? We haven’t been able to reproduce this issue here.

What browser / OS are you using?

ted

Using IE 9. Cleared my cache, closed browser, re-opened, logged off p123 and logged back on. Still have the problem.

I had to move to Firefox to solve this problem.

Think I found the issue (javascript was printing a debug statement to the console which might not exist in IE9)

Try clearing your cache again and I think it will work.

thanks
ted

Sorry, didn’t work. I can use the Screener in Chrome, and I can run Sims in IE, but not the screener still.

Give the clear cache one more try - we did a test on IE8 that had another js error.

theilman, what IE version are you on?

Sorry, still doesn’t work.

Any progress?

Bump, gang. It’s IE, the most widely used browser. Could you please fix.

As we are not able to reproduce this error and IE9 is quite old we’re going to recommend that you upgrade your browser.

What OS do you have?

ted

I’m at the mercy of my office software suite. Guess I’ll just have to do a work-around until I upgrade.

Maybe you can use a portable browser from a USB stick?

Best,
fips

theilman,

Are you running the screen from the ‘About’ tab? We did find an issue that might have made the spinning progress get stuck but only on that one tab.

ted

Try clearing the browser cache through Developer tools. Described here https://kb.wisc.edu/page.php?id=12314

On occassion I use IE8 at work (only option) and a couple of months ago as you described buttons to perform actions just stopped working. I cleared the cache using the commonly known first option in the link and nothing changed. Using the second method I now have most but not all functionality back. The screener backtest is working for me. However the item I most wanted to work charting a series still does not work. The graph never appears. I am resigned that this feature does not work in older browsers.
