New interface for Screener is now live

Dear All,

A new interface for the screener is now live. It hopefully makes it more usable by allowing you to change tabs to change settings and quickly update results. The screener is cumbersome because it has three functions: run a screen, a backtest, and an advanced backtest (now called “Rolling Backtest”). And on top of that it has to deal with “vertically challenged” monitors.

Let us know how you like it.

Thank you

I like it, very well done!

Thanks, Marco. Great job and very useful.

Looks good, thanks Marco.

Marco, nice update. Suggestion: move the “Clear Rules” button away from the “Add Free Form” button. I know you have a safety question on Clear Rules, but moving it further away / changing the colour of the button might help avoid heartache.

I am a big fan of the screener. And I actually use the screener a lot in finding initial ideas. A few questions that have come up -

Why is slippage not applied to ‘resetting’ to equal weights? I actually wasn’t aware of this…hadn’t thought about it.

So…Might be interesting to do two things:

  1. Allow a toggle option as to whether or not people want to reset holdings to equal weights each rebalance…so we can isolate / understand how much of any given ‘system’s’ performance is coming from just this component.
  2. Allow slippage on this rebalance to EQ (or not). With the same slippage setting as currently.

Best,
Tom

Additionnal feedback:

Can you make the screener stop going to “Fixed Setting” height every time I press “Re-Run Screen”? When I enter the formula it is set in “Maximize Settings”, but when I press “Re-Run Screen” it changes and hide the formula. I want to keep seeing the formula so I can edit it faster. Because now every time I have to press the down arrow to expand.

Thanks

More feedback …

The screener now gets stuck in Run Screen or Run Backtest mode. What I mean is that after you’ve run one mode and then attempt to switch to the other, the relevant buttons don’t activate and there is no response when clicking on them. Hopefully this is an easy fix.

Having used this awhile now, this is a very nice update. Thanks.
