I've set up a portfolio of 10 positions (i.e. 10% max position size), but would like to get 20 recommendations (top 0.5% of a 4000 stock universe), so i can manually look at the charts and company profile and select - how can i do that?
If i reject some recommendations to see new ones, i won't be able to add the rejected ones to the portfolio. If i set the max position size to 5%, it will not track my portfolio correctly, as i would be buying 10% of portfolio in each accepted recommendation.
Step 1; Create a dummy Port that is a copy of the one you want to trade. Set it to buy 20 stocks. When you rebalance it, it will give you 20 stocks to choose from. Select the 10 you want to trade, and commit those for the dummy port.
Step 2; Go to the original Port and rebalance it. Of the 10 stocks recommended, delete any that are not on your select list, and get recommendations again. Again delete any that are not on your list. Repeat rebalancing until you have selected all the stocks on your list, and commit the selections.
Step 3; On the next rebalance the original Port will only sell a few stacks, if any. Say it sells 2 stocks. Go to the dummy Port and rebalance. It should also sell the same 2 stocks, and give you 12 recommendations. Select 2 and delete the rest. Repeat step 2.

Hi, It might be interesting to run an automatic 10 stock port, to see if your screening of the stocks helps or hurts performance. You can also use the screener to create any number of stock picks.
