Hello Marco, Over this past weekend I have noticed a pattern of simulation errors that have occurred. In the past, I have not had any problems running a new simulation off of a current simulation, just changing the name and the dates, and it was ok. However, over this past weekend, when I have done this, the simulation result will revert back to the previous one and won't calculate the new one. Then, when I put exactly the same information in again, the simulation will go through. But it is always on the second time with the same information. (After the first go around that failed, it is interesting to note that the change of name and dates were stored, because when I put in the same name and dates the second go around, I could see them there). Unfortunately, this has made me work twice for just one simulation. Please advise what you think it might be. What has made matters worse is that on one of my simulation runs I received an error of no stocks bought because of too strict buy rule. Well, after I tried another date, it keeps getting locked back on that same date of no stocks bought because of too strict buy rule. What is really amusing, is that I go into another totally different porfolio, and run a new simulation, and with different dates, and the "error'd" date comes back up with the error of no stocks bought, and that wasn't even the dates of simulation in the new portfolio. Thanks in advance. Khwan ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by khwanchalerm at Jun 6, 2004 9:42:03 AM] |

Possilbly related to the above. If there is an error reported when a simulation is run, and the retry is actioned. After repairing the criteria and then attempting a "re-run", another error reports the simulation is already saved under the present name. The workaround is to re-enter the original simulation, repair the criteria, and re-run. ![]() |

Marco, The problem appears to be with my home computer and the "cookies" of the internet file. I am not sure why, because I didn't have this problem before. When I run a new simulation from a current simulation result, if I run a "clean disk" and clear the internet files, the simulation will run as normal. However, if I don't clear the cookies, and even if there is only one in there, then the new simulation will not run on the first try and reverts back to the previous simulation. It will however run on the second try. By the way, if I use my login with another computer, I haven't had any issue. So, I think it is a problem with hard disk space. Anyways, in the meantime, I am going to run scandisk/all, and then defrag and see if I get any improvement. Anyways, thanks for your help in trying to clear this up.
