Ranking Systems Reply to this Post

Hey,

I am unable to get the performance (Annualised Return Graphs) and list of stocks to certain ranking systems, such as Peter Lynch and Piotrosky Systems.

I am getting the error message:
Error generating graph: Universe has 0 stocks on 07/30/2011

Does anyone know why this is and how to fix the problem?

Thank You.

Kind Regards.

Yaelle

Yes, i think you are right. There is a problem with some of the universes that we use.

I am looking for the All star models. Can you point me in the right direction to these universes?

Thank you for your prompt response.

Which system you use should not matter. What universe did you select from the dropdown that caused the error? Thanks

We have been using different universes that portoflio 123 staff have created for the Allstar Portfolio's.

We are using Buffett, Lynch, Graham, Piotrosky. However, Lynch and Piotrosky are the ones not working.

Where can I get an update of the universe formula for the above all star models.

Thank You,

Yaelle

So you are using your own custom universe. Sounds like you need to relax the criteria a bit for the date you have an error. Custom universe should not be overly restrictive because the sim will generate an error if universe is empty. You can be more restrictive with Buy rules. If all stocks are eliminated by the Buy rulesyou will not get the error.

There's no way of course to have "buy" rules in rank performance tests, but that tool is not designed to handle a universe that is very restrictive.
